I know now that love sometimes stings

Kim Mitchell   - All We Are

…pretty song

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1PXoxgCXus

all we are is all that love brings
we spin as the highest star spins
we get hearts on fire and in love
and sometimes we’re too blind to see
and i know now that love sometimes stings
when you’re waiting fo a telephone ring
and you feel like a lone star spinning
that might as well give up burning
don’t ask me if I’m still in love
i’m hit by this love song i sing
cause you made me feel such a long way away
iknow now that love sometimes stings
I’ve waited for your telephone rings
and you made me feel such a long way away

Kim Mitchell Go for Soda Lyrics:
might as well go for a soda nobody hurts and nobody cries
might as well go for a soda nobody drowns and nobody dies
so we’re in one of our blue moods you wanna have
it your way and I want it mine all this debating
going ’round in our blue mood makes me thirst for
love Might as well go for a soda…Nobody hurts
and nobody cries Might as well go for a
soda…Nobody drowns and nobody dies life seems to

be a bomb inside your head well the bomb in my
head is love all this debating going ’round in our
blue mood makes me thirsty for love Might as well
go for a soda…Nobody hurts and nobody cries
Might as well go for a soda…Nobody drowns and
nobody dies Might as well go for a soda…It’s
better than slander It’s better than lies Might as
well go for a soda…might as well go for a soda, nobody
hurts nobody cries, might as well go for a soda, nobody
drowns nobody dies, might as well go for a soda, it’s better
than slander it’s better lies, might as well go for a
soda.

It’s alright for you Police ( stuck in my head)

October 28, 2009
Wake up
Make up
Bring it up
Shake up
Stand by
Don’t cry
Watching while the world dies

Big car
Movie star
Hot tip
Go far
Blind date
Too late
Take a bus
Don’t wait

It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
For you and you and you and you and you

It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
For you and you and you

Limp wrist
Tight fist
Contact
No twist
Black dress
No mess
People want no less, no less

Stand by
Don’t cry
Watching while the world dies
Three lane
Fast lane
Standing in the cold rain

It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
For you and you and you and you and you

It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
For you

Headlight
High life
Can’t sleep
Good night
Up tight
Big fight
Big deal
Too right, too right

Big town
Don’t drown
Jump back
Turn around
No life
Flick knife
Finish off my life

It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
For you and you and you and you and you

It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
It’s alright for you
For you

The truth about drummers

September 25, 2008

Thanks to Spinal Taps’ portrayal, drummers have a bad rap as being unreliable and self-destructive. Nothing could be further from the truth.   My friend Mike’s son Zach  has not been corrupted in any way by the drumming habit, despite playing for bands with names like Acid Reign (see blogroll).  He takes lessons from a guy named Kenny Dennard

   http://drummerworld.com/drummers/Kenwood_Dennard.html

My son wanted to play the drums, but they don’t offer them in 5th grade band. The guy at Hyde Music where my son rented his saxophone said the reason was that 50 boys will sign up to play drums and it becomes chaos. It might look something like this:

So  maybe next year.

Local Music

September 22, 2008

I haven’t seen much live music lately, but what I have seen includes bands with people I know personally.

The Pat McGee Band features my cousin Sue’s husband – Pat himself. This rock band has roots in Virginia and you can hear that in their music. Pat’s father in-law is my father’s youngest brother, Brad. http://patmcgeeband.com Pat will often do solo shows at Judge Roy Bean in Bristol if you want to catch him as he is usually touring aound the country.

My friend Mike has a son Zachary who is the drummer for a band called Acid Reign. He is a phenomenal drummer and only a sophomore in high school. xHis father and grandfather also have played in bands as drummers. They play a lot of classic rock covers. http://myspace.com/acidreignri
