An even more complete list of Obama’s lies

This is from TMR (see blogroll).

So is Barack Obama a liar? Absolutely:

Barack Obama has lied every time he claimed to be able to give a tax cut to 95% of Americans. Barack Obama has lied about being willing to meet with John McCain over public financing for their campaigns. Barack Obama has lied about agreeing to 10 Townhall Meetings with John McCain. Barack Obama has lied about John McCain’s record regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (and his own role in the mortgage crisis.) Barack Obama has lied about his friendship with PLO operative Rashid Khalidi. Barack Obama has lied about his connections to ACORN. Barack Obama has lied about launching his political career in Bill Ayers’ house, and the entire nature of that relationship. Barack Obama has lied when he said he didn’t hear Jeremiah Wright spewing hatred, after claiming to have gone to Trinity Baptist Church “every week“. Barack Obama has lied about what little executive experience he has, the results of those efforts, and so on. The words and actions of Barack Obama never match up.

I did some periphery work with ACORN in Wisconsin and I want to know exactly WTH is wrong with ACORN?

This organization focuses on helping low income people with housins, they help to educate people on the importance of voting, and other political issues.

Today I an hearing that voting polls in some states are going to take measures to block “certain” people who were recently registered to vote from actually voting.

    WTH?

Some people who were paid to register voters for ACORN have created fake registrations. Those fakes are subsequently eliminated before any fake or dead people are ever listed as oficially registered voters. Though this is wrong on the level of the individuals doing it and wastes everybody’s time when they have to be fished out after the fact, it would not affect an election, so chill out.
How about places in Florida and other red leaning states where the hours are so limited that people would have to miss work and possibly lose their job (low-income democrats, hello?) in order to get to their polling site. Or, they are so poorly prepared for the number of voters that people are waiting in line for 2, 3 sometimes 5 hours to vote! People with jobs and kids to take care of (single moms and dads especially) might have a hard time with that. Places like this are often located in Republican led districts… suprise, surprise!

I posted to the more recent post as well. It is really sickening to see what was suppose to be a well-meaning community organization that appeared to be doing good work a couple decades ago, take such a turn.

I had not heard anything about ACORN until just recently.

    Becky,

I am glad someone decided not to CHILL OUT and looked into this stuff with ACORN. Should we all just be like Obama and be chill and calm and never point out bullshit, and risk being an affront to the audacity of hope?

Red states often have larger poorer rural areas, so I imagine a lot of the problems in those places has to do with those issues, not merely some Republican conspiracy. It ought to be addressed regardless, and I hope someone out there isn’t just chillin’ and letting it ride.

Call it ‘election hygiene’. We need people to be uptight about this stuff, if nothing else.

Obama didn’t make ACORN corrupt, but why won’t he embrace them now, or criticize them, or fucking SOMETHING besides distance himself and deny any prior ties?

    Hey Wim,

Becky does make a valid point, one that I believe is recognized by the Federal Government,

“How about places in Florida and other red leaning states where the hours are so limited that people would have to miss work and possibly lose their job (low-income democrats, hello?) in order to get to their polling site.”

This very real circumstance has resulted in the Federal government allowing some employees (as needed) to take up to 4 hours of administrative paid leave for voting purposes if the polling place and/or hours are such that they would not be able to vote without taking time off from work.

We asked about this in our office and were told that this rule was primarily put into effect for folks who live and work in Federal offices located in the Southern states where folks may have to drive/travel some distance in order to vote.

Many of these states do have VERY poor rural areas.

    AND,

Quit being so crass with your Baby Sister!!!!!
